Description

The university of Monastir was established in 2004 as part of a series of reforms being made to university education, the University of Monastir is today a major university in Tunisia and it plays a central role in preparing future generations for high-ranking positions in a wide range of fields. Made up of two schools, five faculties and nine institutes, the university is situated in both the touristic city of Monastir as well as the fishing town of Mahdia, and the university-led institutions strive to make a contribution to the societies of the region.

Among them the higher institute of fashion of Monastir ISMM

The ISMM was founded in 2002.

It contains two departments which are the design fashion and textile department and the management of fashion and textile department.

More than 700 students are enrolled in this institute, which provides courses in bachelor’s degrees, professional masters, and research masters.

About:

The WINTEX innovation center of textile at the University of Monastir installed at the Higher Institute of fashion of Monastir it has been financed by the WINTEX project.

The center will be mainly equipped with scanning electron microscope.

The global idea of this center was to assist the training of university profiles mastering the fashion product from its creation to its marketing: The trendsetters, designers, and executive’s textile management of tomorrow.

The creation, in each partner institution, of an innovation center in the field of textiles dedicated to training and business development as well as the establishment of the “Academia Textile industry Council”, will allow a better anchoring of institutions in their socio-economic environment, more appropriate training to the need of manufactures and better employability of graduates.

    The Textile Innovation center has the following objectives:
    • To transfer theoretical knowledge and promote innovation and cooperation in the Tunisian textile industry sector.
    • To promote cooperation between HEls and companies and strengthen relations by creating the Academic Council of the Textile industry.
    • To promote innovation and technology transfer in textile innovation centers.
    • To strengthen global collaboration between universities and HEls Establish further cooperation between HEls and textile companies from the EU and Tunisia.

    The equipment of the center is the scanning electron microscope (SEM):

    • It will analyze the morphology of fibers and textile fabrics in general. It will also allow precise measurement of the pores in the case of nonwovens. The beneficiary companies of the WINTEX center at ISMM are generally textile industries which tend to
